AEC from the ex duo Interesni Kazki just published a few images of his latest mural in Cancun, Mexico curated by Proyecto Panorama and organised by Visual Junkies.
Titled ‘End of The Age of walls’ and painted in one of Cancun’s oldest neighbourhoods, the new mural is a good expression of AEC’s surrealist style. The new piece represents the artist’s wish to express how education and culture shape the development of a country, tearing down walls and barriers between people and entire cultures.
The mural depicts a tall man wearing a sombrero. He holds an open book from which four hands emerge. One of the hans holds a small blue flag depicting a sombrero, a second hand holds a stylographic feather, the third hands is shaped as a fist, whilst the last one is shown like it tries to reach something.
The man walks across a wall dividing two cultures and breaks it. Being this wall painted in Mexico, I guess we all know what wall we are talking about, but the wall fear represents is even stronger and the way to tear it down is fighting ignorance and fear with knowledge and love. There is no other way.
