A few weeks ago finished Miami-based contemporary artist Ernesto Maranje his second mural for the Art United us project in Kiev, Ukraine curated byGeo Leros and Iryna Kanishcheva,
Maranje is known for his colourful murals and animal imagery, often making reference to myths, history, and his own experiences, and paralleling animal and human behaviour. Some of his favourite creatures are birds, because they represent, according to the artist, a step forward in our evolution that will “take us from land to the skies”. The new mural is a good example of this duality where humans and birds become part of nature and the landscape they are made of.
