La Mesa – Puerto de Santa María, Cádiz
Following the last mural in Bilbao, Spanish artist Mesa spent some time painting a couple of new murals, one in Zorrotzaurre, Bilbao and the other in Puerto de Santa María, Cádiz.
Making use of a more architectonic approach to painting and composition, the work of La Mesa, known for his dark ghostly characters of intense realism, seems to be in direct touch with the surrounding architecture and in a way mimicking it.
Flat structures and intersecting planes give form to new imaginary spaces within spaces, an other dimension where his experimentation unfolds. I’m just loving this new artistic turn.
