Italian artist Opiemme sent over a few pics of his last piece in Bologna, Italy.
“Irradiation” is part of a new series inspired by the stars, the sky and the Universe in general and according to the artists, this little spot was something he wanted to paint for a long long time until January this year when he won a competition at the Setup Fair making it easier for him to get permission to paint the spot.
Irradiation is also inspired by ‘He Wishes For The Cloths Of Heaven’ a lovely poem by Yeats:
Had I the heavens’ embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
