American artist Augustine Kofie will be launching a new beautiful print next Sunday through 1xRun as part of their Pow Wow 2014 Featured Artists series (View Entire Series).
‘Circulate System Shift’ is a 22 x 30 Inches 6-Color Serigraph on 290gsm Coventry Rag Fine Art Paper in an edition of 100. Signed and numbered by the artist.
“Circulate System Shift is in tune with my Circulatory System themed works, but a bit more focused on the ‘circle’ foundation. The inclusion of the ‘rotation’ contrasts well against my linear interpretations.For these screen prints I painted the separations on site a few weeks back in January at the Seriopress’s new print space in El Sereno, a faction of north east Los Angeles and one of the oldest communities in LA. This is my third screen print that I’ve created hand painted separations. I’m learning each time I create the next print. I always want them to be their own beast, still part of my creative viewpoint and characteristics, but they are always a unique approach and offering. This go around I had a chance to go in harder on the opacities in the inks and create more fun, unexpected colors in the layers.” – Augustine Kofie
