Spanish artist Borondo is still in the UK where he, a few days ago, painted this beautiful mural installation in East London.
As mentioned before, creates Borondo hunting – and sometimes disturbing – pieces dominated by an earth toned colour palette and expressive brushstrokes.
Entitled ‘Adam and Eve’ the new piece shows the image of a couple portrayed on two small adjacent billboards, Adam in one and Eve in the other. Each of them seem to be sleeping in the bathtub, relaxed and undisturbed, covered by not only water, but also small white flowers, a scene that in some way could remind you of Millai’s iconic painting Ophelia.
As in the rest of Borondo’s oeuvre his human figures seem somehow unfinished and provided with a colour palette that adds a certain melancholy to his work, but unlike many of his others mural we can this time recognise the faces of those portrayed adding maybe a new meaning to this work.
There is no doubt that Borondo has crossed some boundaries when it comes to Street Art where his style, based in classical painting techniques, is certainly an uncommon sight.
