Last September the Spanish collective Luzinterruptus were in Rosarno a town in Calabria, where they were celebrating a festival of urban regeneration called A di Città.
The project was carried out with the complicity and the help of the residents and the administration. The idea was to make use of a familiar element for the town and convert it into something else creating in this way a festive environment. They chose peppers, a vegetable grown in the area and which has been part of the local culture for hundreds of years.
The result is a wonderful and fun installation of pepper garlands which illuminated the streets of this little town for three consecutive days. An installation with a happy end, a wonderful ‘peperonata pasta’ made from the leftover peppers and which fed a range of residents, participants and volunteers. There you have Félix Ricardo Torres, warm food is the thing!
